Pre-publication report
The Copyright Office released a pre-publication version of Part 3 of its AI report, addressing generative-AI training, copyright and licensing. It is a policy analysis, not a blanket permission to train on any material or a final court ruling on every model.

Legal Aid Agency systems face a data breach
Security incident reported
AP reported that the Ministry of Justice took Legal Aid Agency online services offline after discovering a wider breach involving sensitive applicant information. The report illustrates a service-continuity and confidentiality problem; it does not establish that every affected person suffered financial loss.

Our Malaysian implication: permission to use material and the security of that material need separate controls. A legal document may include personal information, confidential strategy and third-party copyright at the same time. Removing a name does not necessarily resolve every restriction.
