THE ROAD AHEAD
Intelligence in
service of people.
A long-term vision for access, human judgment and the next era of AI.
| Horizon | Possible benefit | Conditions before reliance |
|---|---|---|
| Now / public beta | Plain-language preparation, source navigation, anonymised question building. | Check sources, respect deadlines and involve qualified humans. |
| 2027–2030 / illustrative scenario | More capable document review, multilingual assistance and supervised workflows. | Measured accuracy, privacy engineering, local legal permissions, redress and affordability evidence. |
| Beyond 2030 / open scenario | Embodied interfaces and broader autonomous assistance. | No AGI arrival date is known; professional authority and accountability do not arise from capability alone. |
The intelligent solicitor is a vision
A humanoid might one day make complex systems less intimidating. It is not presently a Maatin solicitor, representative or court officer. Any regulated legal service must be delivered through an authorised arrangement in the relevant jurisdiction.
Three futures to test
- Access expands: trustworthy explanations reduce preparation costs and connect people with timely help.
- Benefits concentrate: powerful systems become expensive gatekeepers; affordability and governance must be measured.
- Errors scale: convincing but wrong outputs cause harm; verification, correction and human appeal become essential.

Our measure of progress
A future programme should publish citation accuracy, corrections, user comprehension, time saved, access across languages, privacy incidents and the cost of a completed task. No performance figures are claimed for the present beta.
