Major injuries fall while fatalities rise
Report published
Singapore’s first-half 2026 report recorded an annualised major-injury rate, excluding platform workers, of 14.6 per 100,000 workers, down from 15.8 a year earlier. The overall fatal-injury rate rose from 0.97 to 1.1, with 21 fatalities. These different measures should not be collapsed into a single claim that all safety outcomes improved.

Reuters reported proposals including an under-13 social-media restriction and supervised access for ages 13–14. The proposal requires further legislative approval; it is not an already-operative EU ban or a Malaysian rule.
